Earlier this month,  Asus’ insane water-cooled laptop and the appearance of a new Nvidia GPU that looked for all the world like a GTX 980 desktop chip in a mobile form factor. Today, Nvidia is taking the lid off that particular project — and it’s even crazier than we thought it was. Putting a GTX 980 in a notebook chassis is a bit nuts, even if these systems are only portable in the same way that a five-gallon bucket is portable. The handful of laptops now shipping with full-size GTX 980 graphics cards in them will allow those cards to be overclocked , opening up still more performance alongside the unlocked Intel Skylake-K chips that Chipzilla is now shipping in mobile as well. None of the specs are skimped on — the GPU’s core clock is 1126MHz base, identical to the standard desktop, while its GDDR5 memory bus is clocked at an effective 7Gbps. Fallout from the Volkswagen diesel scandal continues to grow, as this morning brings reports that Audi’s head of research and development Ulrich Hackenberg and Porsche’s engine chief Wolfgang Hatz are both out — two of the top engineering figures in the Volkswagen’s other flagship brands. That comes as a bit of a surprise, even though it’s widely expected, more heads will roll at VW's aside from Martin Winterkorn, the CEO of the company’s US operations, who resigned effective yesterday. Meanwhile, there’s word from the German newspaper Auto Bild that BMW’s diesel engines were also “significantly” exceeding regulatory limits, CNBC reports , with the BMW X3 2.0-liter diesel model spitting out 11 times more nitrogen oxide than the current level set by the European Union. “[We did not] manipulate or rig any emissions tests. We observe the legal requirements in each country and adheres to all local testing requirements,” BMW said in a state...

It was straight chaos this evening as Chris Brown left the courthouse. According to reports, he was released without bail after the judge reduced his felony assault charge to a misdemeanor due to the victim having minor injuries.  As of now, the victim, 20-year-old Isaac Parker, and Chris Brown both have two different accounts of what happened on Saturday night.  While the victim claims he was punched after he jumped in a photo with two girls who were taking a photo with Chris, Chris’ team is saying that the victim was trying to get on his tour bus, and that is what caused him to get a blow to the face from Chris’ bodyguard for trespassing.  It hasn’t been confirmed if it was Chris who threw the punch that fractured the victim’s nose, or if it was his bodyguard.   On the 28th, the arraignment was delayed for hours, due to the courtroom being overcrowded.
